WYD aftermath

Looking back at the previous post, it's HORRIBLY SELF-DIRECTED. Zomg so selfish. XD Haha blame the moment of weakness. I was alone at home (my parents and bro'd gone overseas.) so yup.

I never get upset very long, but now I remember two other points that're important..

11. I should be a better friend. This extends to remembering birthdays. I totally suck at remembering birthdays. :/ Cali, I'm going to get your present to you SOON. Really. (If you're even reading this. XD) It's all ready and all, just that when I went to post it early this week I realised the post office was full of people wanting to send postcards back...-_- Bloody WYD tourists.

12. I should be a better friend. I should be so much of a better friend that it warrants two mentions. XD Too self-occupied, too lousy at comforting, VERY VERY bad at keeping in touch (lazy -- please keep in touch with me, but I will always remember yoo. :))

So these few days have been spent working at WYD. For the uninitiated, World Youth Day is a catholic thingy at Sydney this year. I'm working for catering (sounds more fancy than it is), which means 'feed the masses' -- my job involves packing the bags to be given out with the food, lifting some boxes (not the heavy ones, the boys do those. Ohoho. XD The advantage of being a girl.), and microwaving da foods. Doesn't really sound like much, but keep in mind that Barangaroo (this wharf thing) is a HUGE site spanning over 2.4km, so a LOT of people are working there.

But my outlet was in a really ulu spot so after the first day, we closed and I got rerouted to staff another outlet. Bleh. Whatever. Lazy mode for day two, less stress on poor feet. Even now, my feet are kinda numb and they can and will hurt if I get up and walk.

Anyone who wanted pictures, too bad. XD I'm too lazy to take them cos honestly it's not an event I'd be attending if I weren't paid. XD However, the volunteers really are very nice people, and very helpful. One of them (Cecilia) reminded me of my childhood best friend....Yawen. :) Who probably suffered because even then I wasn't a very good friend. XD I wonder if she remembers me. She'd better. Ahaha. Jk jk, but it has been a while. I still have a lot of fond memories of our good times together, though they're fuzzy at the edges. Herc's Adventures... (been trying to find that game) Mad Magazine...board games...:)

Recently I've been (re)reading Ender's Shadow on my DS. It's still a good book.
