Today was the first out of three orientation days. While I was only there for half a day (had to run at two to pick bro up), it was rushed, hectic, but quite enjoyable. I didn't take enough photos, though. Will try tomorrow, especially since I've now disabled the camera's irritating KACLICK sound that it makes every time I take a photo. As I gleefully told neesan and my flist (most of whom were AFK anyway), "I can now take upskirt photos of schoolgirls like a hentai ojisan!"Of course I'm joking! :P More like I can take stealth shots of bishounen. (On right - poster loot!)
Yes, I'm kidding on that one too. I think. Hurhur! In any case, the sheer variety of the stalls was absolutely astonishing. So many interests were represented!
Was a bit lost at the beginning, wanted to get my showbag so joined a super long queue. After half an hour, missing the official welcome, and getting to know the really pretty and really nice girl called Inna who was queuing up in front of me (she's doing Architecture, it sounds fantastic :)), I realised it wasn't for the showbag. At which point I extracted myself from the queue (said bye to Inna. :( Didn't see her again today. Yesterday.) and walked around.
I ended up joining the Movement and Dance Soc, which organises various dance classes for two dollars per, but forgot to pay. -whistles innocently- Also joined the Singapore Society -- the execs at the stall seemed like fun people. :) Not to forget, joined SUAnime. I'm probably showing up in the shirt tomorrow so I can help out at the stall, since walking around alone is kind of...huh. On left - Creative Anachronists were performing. While the swords were obviously blunt, they seemed to hit quite hard! Seemed almost all guys, though.I wanted to join the musical society, but the only thing I'm actually interested in is accompanying on the piano. XD So I figured it was too weak an excuse. Reminds me of the awkward moment I had with the smiling girl at Choir -- I thought it was the musical group, so I'd wandered around.
Girl: Hi, do you want to join the choir? :)
Me: Uh, let's see...uh, choir?
Girl: -nods, smiling. Classical, vaguely choral music plays in the background.-
Me: (*thinks* I can't say I do karaoke..so..) Um, no, sorry, I don't think I really...(But I like singing...even if I may not be good at it..) Um..what activities...
Girl: -still smiling- (I didn't complete my question so I suppose she was waiting for me to. XD)
Me: Okay, sorry, I thought, uh, this was something else, not really interested in choir, thanks! -beats a retreat-
Girls: -smiles and nods-
The Pharmacy Faculty welcome ate up almost three hours, and wasn't all that fun. In fact, most of the lecture was boring. It'd have been a lost cause if I hadn't met and sat with a group of very nice girls. Even though lecture really isn't conducive to chatting so I didn't know them much even after that...when we had the barbeque (free sausage sandwiches), people were mostly too busy eating to talk, too. Well, still, never bad to get to know others, even just their names. :)Went back to pick bro up, then...started raining. Back home, it was time to count da loot! I loved my anime posters!
Still haven't finished with the rest, yet, though...gotta sleep now, will continue tomorrow.
Below picture - this adorably large rabbit was up for winning at one of the stalls! So SOFT!
